It comes in naturally and automatically once you venture into the rut called politics most aptly described by none other than Ronald Reagan," It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learnt that it bears a striking resemblance to the first " ( Incidentally prostitution is the oldest profession without doubt) . The politics and polity flourishes till such time the players are allowed to loot the nation , allowed to rule through corruption empowerment philosophies i.e. creation of a cabal and loot share holders in all organs of power, principle of divide and rule etc. etc.. The moment there is an element of change introduced in the form of any change in the unholy power equation mechanism i.e. corruption and corruption empowerment in any walk of life, the malaise of bastardly temperament amongst so many of these servants of nation comes to the fore.

After the recent results of state elections, the parties who ruled the roost for majority of years after independence realised that they cannot come back to power in near future through their social engineering, divide and rule, corruption empowerment philosophy and through anything and everything they have. The reason is pretty simple. They don't have sincerity and honesty of purpose towards either citizenry or the nation. They waited for almost eight years for BJP to give them some corruption matter to talk about but Modi and his team did not oblige them. They resorted to rhetoric of ' Suit Boot ki Sarkar', 'Adani Ambani ki Sakar', inciting minorities on abolition of Article 370, passing of CAA , creating imaginary fears of NRC and letting India remain a country of stray elements along with fighting for their corruption and corruption empowering philosophies through obstructive and delaying tactics through Parliament and judiciary in case of GST and linking of Aadhaar to bank accounts, PAN, voter card, ration card, gas connection, payments through direct to bank transfer etc., etc. to name only a few. Having failed in their last attempt of inciting farmers comprising almost 50% of Indian population through the thekedaars of rural economy, the last bastion of black money economy in our country, they have lost all hope of defeating BJP through electoral process. They want to create social/ religious unrest ( unrest is an understatement) in fact they will like to see riots to realize their political goal of grabbing power.

The black facts of Indian secularism and degradation of many in the Indian polity from appeasement to being blackmailed for an en masse vote commitment have given rise to Hindus being attacked on Ramnavami procession and now on Lord Hanuman shobha yatra. It is time that these seculars, intelligentsia, historians and polity with vested interests and hidden agenda is forced to correct the myths, falsehoods and wrong information fed to the nation after independence. Vow, stone pelting on Ramnavami processions in so many cities of India, a so called Secular country with a 75℅ Hindu population. If you think it is the courage of minorities you are sadly mistaken. It is the handiwork of bastardly polity representing the opposition who are suffering politically because of their love for corruption and corruption empowerment philosophy. So many seculars and minority leaders have been accusing the majority for forcing down its viewpoint on everyone whereas the fact is that these guys have been bribed in kind ( vote commitment ) or may be even more who knows. Strangely he happens to be the most hated by the opposition and intelligentsia because of his actions which are not to the liking of many sections of elite of Indian society.

In the seventy plus years of post independence India, no doubt it was Congress party that ruled the country for about six decades. The Indian democracy did throw up a few alternatives to Congress from time to time in the shape of many erstwhile Congress leaders. However the first to last a full term was of National Democratic Alliance ( NDA ) led by A B Vajpayee of BJP. Now India has Narendra Modi at the helm of affairs from 2014 onwards in his second term. Though BJP all by itself enjoyed the majority in 2014 as well as in 2019, still the government is that of NDA.

The politics in independent India theoretically evolved around secularism and socialism. This is at least what has been the central idea of manifestoes of all political parties all these years. When it comes to actual politics , it boils down to plain and simple vote arithmetic manipulations through the age old maxim of Divide and Rule on the basis of religion, cast, creed, sex, age, occupation, urban/rural etc. etc.. In essence in Indian politics, there are no permanent friends, no permanent enemies as secularism and socialism are used just to create perception to woo a particular vote bank at a particular point of time.

BJP has been labelled as a non secular party by many. The naked truth of Indian politics is that all political parties, national or regional, excepting Congress party has shared power directly with BJP or in governments where BJP also shared power, though whenever need arose, they labelled it non secular or anti socialism. The Congress party also fell to the greed of being in power in case of Maharashtra recently in coalition with Shiv Sena, essentially a Hindu party, forgetting their being self proclaimed champions of secularism. As it is wooing Muslim voters, one of the largest undividable chunk of Indian vote bank has been the sole effort of all so called secular parties, many a time ignoring the basic principles of equality for all citizens even in the eyes of law. In this race aligning with Muslim League has been a glaring example of Secularism of the Congress.

The second major postulate of Indian politics i.e. Socialism has been even greater sufferer at the altar of Indian politics. Ever growing lust for all baser instincts i.e. money, power, wine and women, led to explosion of corruption and corrupt practices and urge to nurture the model of Philosophy of Corruption Empowerment. The insensitivity of Indian polity to corruption mitigation which is so very important for the prosperity of our millions can be gauged by the following. One prime minister who served for more than 15 years when told about growing corruption casually said that it was a global phenomenon while another prime minister in eighties was candid enough in admitting that out of 1 Re given by Indian union only 15 paise ( Or 15 % only ) reached the target. But did anything change? Were any measures adopted to cure this malaise both from the centre or any state, by any party, national or regional? The answer is an emphatic NO.

The Indian polity dwelled only on vote bank politics all these years in the garb of secularism and socialism through not only creation of Corruption empowered cabals but creation of fake, duplicate and multiple entries in all national lists, be it Voter's List, List of MNREGA workers, List of beneficiaries of government subsidies, List of Permanent Account Holders (PAN) holders, List of citizens etc. etc., List of Bank Account Holders, to enable manipulations in election results and grabbing a big pie of national exchequer through theft, bribes, corruption tax evasion and generation of black money

All political parties have shared fruits of power with BJP and all political parties in their economics profess and work within 10-15% left or right of centre. It is also amply clear that the plank of BJP being non secular, anti Muslim is just a rhetoric. All that BJP stands for is uniformity before law for all citizens in all walks of life without exception. So why is Modi hated so much by opposition and so called intelligentsia? What has he done or is going to do which makes him a political untouchable in the country?

Many politicians of the country are convinced by the fact that Corruption Mitigation and Good Governance can be Biggest Growth Engine of Indian Economy but because of political compulsions and lust for power failed in doing something meaningful in this regard. Mr. Modi , strangely enough for an Indian politician has taken it very seriously and has started hitting the Demons of Indian Economy and Governance one by one. During last six years , he has taken the following decisions which seem to have touched the juggler vein of rest of polity.

It all started with Demonetization and introduction of GST. Some people particularly tax thieves and evaders, real estate mafia, terror funders, Hundi and Havala operators and the polity which benefitted from activities these started hating Modi.

Realising the total potential of AADHAAR : The project of unique identification ( UID) number or Aadhaar was initiated by Manmohan Singh's goverment but they developed cold feet when the total scope was understood. A major shift in approach to dealing with China and Pakistan has increased Modi's popularity considerably with the masses.

Plus minus in the vote bank along with secularism are not the main reasons of hatred towards Mr. Modi but permanently eroding the credibility of these opposition leaders as The Messiah of protection of Muslims and hapless poor masses by his actions is definitely giving birth to this hatred.

But the major cause of this hatred emanates from the policy and governance actions which are denying them the opportunity of gobbling 85% of the government expenditure, (this fact was mentioned by one of the Indian prime ministers in mid eighties) through direct transfer into the bank account number of real living beneficiaries. During the last five years about Rs 10 lakh crores has been disbursed like this. Now through farmer related legislations, the opposition and so called intelligentsia, bureaucracy etc. etc. has been denied loot share from almost Rs 25 lakh annually. This being the biggest blow and hence the reactions are also equally big and strong.

In fact denying opportunities of manipulations of vote bank politics and a big share in national loot is why Modi is hated so much by the opposition and so called intelligentsia.

vksharmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10923271354051259206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5909644916662107036.post-63698937648017420212020-09-29T00:57:00.004+05:302020-10-11T00:34:49.120+05:30FARM BILL PROTESTS -- PROTESTS BY FARMERS OR CORRUPTION EMPOWERED POLITICAL CABAL
The three legislations namely,

Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) 2020,

Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services 2020,

The Essential Commodities (Amendment) 2020,

concerning farm produce and its sale have been passed by the Indian parliament and have become acts after signing by the President of India. It had raised a lot of hue and cry during its passage in the parliament and even now protests against the act acts are taking place. It is worthwhile to remind here that these provisions formed a part of manifesto of Indian National Congress from 2012 onwards. The other political parties mostly regional though some of them termed as national parties technically never seem to think in terms of country as a whole.

First of all, what is the extent of protests. The involvement of citizenry is almost at the same level as that of protests in the case of Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizenship, at best a couple of thousand people at various places. Yes, the polity of all hues (except the BJP) with their touts and corruption empowered cabal they have nurtured for almost seven decades is on the streets. There are media guys who feel their wings are clipped by the present ruling dispensation have used big big qualitative adjectives like massive, the nation on the boil etc. etc. for these protests. For their information, India has about 13 crore farmers/cultivators and a few thousands at some places in the country is a miniscule representation for a class. What is their motivation?

Agriculture has been a state subject, i.e. it forms a part of state list of our constitution, which essentially means that states are supposed to address all issues related to agriculture. An entry 33 in the concurrent list was made by the present union government in Jun 2020 which limits the power of states in agriculture and empowers the Centre by stating that both the states and union government can legislate regarding production, trade, supply and distribution of a range of foodstuffs and agricultural raw materials.

Since centre has come into the agriculture from Jun 2020, all the Woes of The Indian Farmer emanate from the failure of all state governments who have been looting the farmers ever since independence. In fact truth about these protests came out from one state politician from Tamil Nadu that these acts are an intrusion on the federal structure of India. Polity all over the globe and Indian polity in particular doesn't believe in powers unless a big earning opportunity is attached to it. Incidentally about Rs 25 lakh crores worth of agriculture is produced in India and sold in the Mandis of the country. Furthermore, the ratio of what a farmer gets and what a final consumer pays for any goods at best is perhaps as low as 1:4 and in many cases it can touch 1:6 and for perishables much higher. The Rs 25 lakh crore figure is in terms of price paid to the farmer. One needs to understand that for the state government bigwigs of polity, arhatiyas, commission agents and middle men, it is a game involving Rs 50-100 lakh crores annually and more than 90% in cash only. An extremely lucrative activity for black money earners and political funding. Farmer has nothing to lose, in fact he is going to gain only.

That exactly is the reason of so much agony thrust on Indian polity through these farm related legislations. If only these states ruling guys cared for the plight of farmers they would have increased the MSP in their states to the level of their liking and enacted legislations that all agricultural produce will sell only above MSP irrespective of the fact that it is bought by government or a private party. Polity of all hues has failed in not standing with the ANNADATA all these years and fooling him with hollow catchy slogans. Let us make a sincere beginning in the right direction to improve the lot of our Annadata with more and more of such measures to raise the earnings of farming community to give him a reasonable living standard.

vksharmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10923271354051259206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5909644916662107036.post-46882899549122849032020-09-25T21:17:00.000+05:302020-10-11T00:35:24.677+05:30FARMER WOES IN INDIA
About 50% Indians depend on farming sector in India, about 13 crore farm owning families along with farm labour and those involved in farm related activities. However, the farming sector contributes about 15-17% to the national GDP. Another basic fact to be noted is that out of these 13 crore land owning families about 12.5 crore own less than 1 Hectare of land. We must understand that this chunk of 95% of farmers even with a small family of 4 persons can only live as extremely poor on the basis of the produce from his holding of about 1 Hectare. ( Say anything between Rs 50000 - 60000 ).

Now, any measures to improve the lot of this large chunk of about 50 crore people should be fair to one and all and has to be thought of in the light of following facts.

Minimum Support Price ( MSP ) covers only a small fraction of farm produced commodities, some 25 odd commodities only and there also the procurement of about 5% of the total produce is bought by union government.

We should never ignore that no farmer can live solely on the goods produced on his farm. In fact a majority of any farmer household's kitchen, food and clothing requirements also come from the market.\

If 50 crore are dependent on agriculture produce, there are 120 crore consumers of this produce. This additional 70 crores comprise of all labour and workers, small vendors and businesses. Their additional earning requirements because of food price rise could result into the prices of everything spiraling upwards, thereby erasing the gains of the farming community.

Agriculture has been a state subject, i.e. it forms a part of the state list of our Constitution, which essentially means that states are supposed to address all the issues related to agriculture. Great idea but why did it not strike them when they were enjoying the power. Because either they did not know that value of 17% of GDP i.e. Rs 27 lakh crores exceeds the annual budget of India. And supposingly Indian government procures it, then who sells it to the market. Or perhaps they just want to criticize the government of India to justify their salaries and perks.

Secondly these parties want that total produce should be sold by farmers in Mandis at Minimum Support Price. Since they are ruling in majority of states and the state governments can formulate such policies as per constitution , why are they leaving such a welfare measure to Modi to take credit and win future elections?????????

In the light of all this, what is the real answer to the farmer woes in India? First and foremost any subdivision of individual holding below one Hectare is catastrophe for a farming family. This clearly implies that the country has to not only put a control on population but also wean away a few tens of millions from these farming households to industry, services and other professions to maintain present parity.

Secondly, the country has to find solutions to losses of farmers by natural calamities like floods, hailstorms, famines, as also man made problems of rotting of grains and perishable items because of lack of infrastrucure such as normal storage, cold storage, quick movement of produce from areas of abundance to areas of shortage, development of adequate food processing and losses because of rodents, pests, disease etc.

Thirdly, saving the farmer from the clutches of inspectors, Aahrtiyas, middlemen, commission agents, wholesalers, retailers etc. In short, a system has to be evolved where the ratio of the price which a farmer gets and the price which a consumer pays is not less than 0.5.

vksharmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10923271354051259206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5909644916662107036.post-40017972327520026102020-05-26T17:15:00.003+05:302020-09-25T21:53:32.855+05:30India And Coronavirus Catastrophe

Two months have passed after the lock down as a result of Corona
Virus (Covid 19). On one hand the political agenda has given birth to a debate
on whether India should have gone ahead with lock down or not? On the other hand
questions are being raised on the timing and preparedness required before putting
the nation under lock down. Both these questions have a common answer in the
fact that catastrophes and calamities are not planned activities and hence the
response actions and planning will go hand in glove with each other and is in
essence a trade-off between economy, loss of life, preparedness in both logistics and medical facilities and the speed of onset of the calamity in all
kind of likely scenarios emanating from the nation’s understanding and response
to the problem.

All analysis of the problem, be it by Polity and Political
analysts, Economists, Journalists, Industrialists and Intelligentsia has been
done keeping in view one’s own self interest, hidden agenda and selfish motivations
and fails to give a rational and unbiased assessment to a normal citizen.

It is a well known that corona virus infected patients grow rapidly and exponentially. In the light of unfortunate fact that neither a cure nor a vaccine is available to mankind at this juncture, the only plausible solution at this is to slow down the growth chain and break it if possible, much like a nuclear reaction is controlled in an atomic power plant by removing/absorbing a large a large number of neutrons from the chain fission reaction, thus avoiding the catastrophe of a nuclear bomb explosion. This controlling/ breaking down the chain required an imposition of a complete lock down on all kind of activity along with building up an infrastructure to help fight and control Corona virus on a war footing. The results of any delay and let up would have been as catastrophic as that of a nuclear explosion. While the nuclear explosion limits itself to a maximum radius of 100 Kms or so, Corona misfortune would have been on the national scale.
The trade off available was very simple. A maximum of Rs. 15 to 20 lakh crore
of GDP loss coupled with a lot of misery and sufferings to the poor masses or accepting a potential of a couple of lakh deaths and a couple
of million covid-19 patients with the level of infrastructure created today so
painstakingly in the last 2 months and barely enough for maximum 2 lakh
patients. The war would have neither been won nor finished after this. But I can venture out to say if there was no
lock down from March, the exponential growth of corona virus patients and its collateral damage effects on industry, commerce and services because of randomly falling sick of key workers,
closing and sanitizing of premises, its demoralizing effect on business and
workforce would have definitely led to an even greater exodus of workers (
Unplanned equally if not more ). And a completely haywire and directionless
nation would have suffered many many times more.In case the nation went in for a lock down after giving a fortnight of preparation time as many have been professing, a sudden explosion of corona virus cases would have been simply unmanageable as has been seen in many advanced, educated, law abiding and prosperous nations.

Needless to emphasize that the social distancing, use of
masks, soap and sanitizer, quarantine etc. are all containment efforts aiming
at minimizing the loss and certainly not means of finding an end to the corona
virus. The finding out of a vaccine and achieving herd immunity can give a lot of respite and
comfort to the global citizenry but in true sense the war shall be deemed to
have won only after the humanity finds a cure to the disease..

After having taken care of all fakes and duplicates in the population nos., voter list, list of all kind of state and central beneficiaries, property, gold and other asset holders, tax payers and tax evaders, the nation should look towards a remedy to the following governance issues.

Discretion: Discretion is the biggest strength of governance if utilized with honesty and sincerity. But as the Indian system has been taken over by Corruption Empowered Cabal , ( the lick my boot/ scratch my back variety ) and where discretion is either used to extract money from all helpless and compelled citizenry or incur favours on one's cronies, stooges, relatives, masters and fellow travellers. It is time that Indian governance chooses to live without this word till such time we understand the real meaning of honesty, sincerity and character.

Reinforcement of Corruption Control Machinery of States: The Indian states combined together have control over a yearly budget which is at least 1.5 times the Central budget. But sadly the central government can talk of CBI and ED originally set up to investigate bribery and governmental corruption ( Its efficacy and intent has always been in question in our corruption mired society ). As far as the states are concerned, they are the hot beds of corruption and a safe and sound source of illegal earning for polity of all hues and colours and the saddest part is that they are never in the eye of the storm in this great nation of Honest Politicians, Super Honest Intelligentsia, Beyond Doubt Journalists and Media. Hope we soon have somebody to plug the backside of this golden egg laying hen.

Reinforcement of Law Enforcing, Investigating Agencies and Judiciary: India Spends Only 0.08% Of GDP On Judiciary, Crippling Reforms. As of 2018, the judicial system was functioning with a lower than sanctioned number of judges, the report stated. While judicial vacancies against sanctioned posts stood at 23.25% at all tiers, the report pointed out that in 2016-17, high courts had a judge vacancy of 42% and subordinate courts of 23%.Police vacancies run at about 22% of sanctioned numbers, according to the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) report published in January 2017. The most acute vacancies were reported in Uttar Pradesh--at 53% for the constabulary and 63% for officers (2017). Similarly, nearly one-third of all prison posts remain unfilled across the country. Uttarakhand and Jharkhand had the most poorly staffed jails. Uttarakhand, for instance, recorded the highest vacancies among cadre staff, at 72% (2016). As of 2019, only 79% of the district legal service authorities had full-time secretaries to manage the delivery of legal-aid. These poor numbers are not a sheer coincidence but are a direct result of birth and rise of the corruption empowered cabal . An increase of Rs 85,000 Crore out of a total combined budget of 67 lakh Crore ( Both Centre and States ) is not going to play havoc with the Indian economy but it will be a big asset in controlling corruption and black money, increasing the happiness quotient of general masses. Of course it will be like striking lightening on all members of corruption empowered cabal.

Human Resource Development: The role of human resource development : the next gen growth engine has been talked about extensively during the last two decades. Respective governments have been boasting of the great work done in the field of education and human resource development. But what is the reality. Indian Reality is that we have a Rudderless Education system. Our education system produces about 3 million graduates ( B.A.'s ) , about 1 million technical graduates, 0.18 million MBA's, 0.27 million polytechnic diplomas and 0.75 million ITI's. Out of all these so called educated and qualified class about 80% are simply unemployable. Instead of contributing towards India's progress, they are just a drain on the system as a lot of government money is spent on these colleges and institutes. These people invariably find jobs in the government sector wherein utter discretion is used in the name of 'Interview' and a lot of money changes hands in the form of bribe. In the Skilled manpower segment which is the essence of progress of productivity of a country the situation is all the more worse. Firstly the quality and standard of skilled labour and supervisors is simply not up to the mark. Secondly we have a very distorted pyramid structure when technical manpower is in question. Imagine for 1 million engineering graduate pass outs per annum, we produce only 0.27 million diploma holders and 0.75 million ITI's. On the top of it we have about 200 million unskilled workers who just have two hands as their competence. There is an urgent need to convert these hands into Semi Skilled ones or Blue Collar Manpower which includes Plumbers, Masons, Carpenters, Electricians, Drivers and workers in leather, jewellery and textile industry to name only a few. It is only in India that in these categories we have only 2% of manpower with any formal vocational training. In Industrially advanced countries more than 90% workers have proper vocational training which helps increasing the productivity and quality of produce and earnings of the individual. This is for white collar and blue collar manpower. The concept of pink collar manpower is yet to take off. This is a very specialised cadre and the about 30% of manpower has to be absorbed in nursing, secretarial practices, beauticians and all kinds of service industry. Needless to say that we as a nation have to create ways and means to wean people away from villages and agriculture, to have more and more people in the tax net as also in the organised sector.

The need of the hour is to have somebody who could say with Charles de Gaulle, "<span face=""Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #222222; line-height: 20px; text-align: left;">In politics it is necessary either to betray one's country or the electorate. Another prime minister remarked that out of 1 Rupee given as a welfare measure by the government only 15 paise reaches the beneficiary. Needless to emphasize that the rest is gobbled by this cabal. Many of this cabal will point out the increase in GDP and per capita income during this period but will not tell you that India could have been more than a conservative 10 trillion Dollar economy instead of 1 or 1.5 trillion.

In 1947 when India got independence, Indian polity and bureaucracy were by and large an honest and God fearing community. There could be some biases, likings, putting in a good word for some favour but nothing was ever done in exchange of money. Bribery and corruption were almost a taboo in the society. Tax compliance was an honour. With the passage of years, bribery, corruption, tax evasion all became accepted norms in the society and those who stayed away from these activities were ridiculed for not being worldly wise and daring.

How did it start? Why did it start? The shift from pre independence era poltician's mindset of a servant of people to the mindset of being the ruler/king hardly took two decades. Once this rot set in, the necessity of having faithful servants in all positions arose. The lust of power immediately brought in the lust for money, riches and a desire for all baser elements of life. The desire for power coupled with the desire for riches pushed the Indian politicians to the real long established definition of poltics. "<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first". These are the words of Ronald Reagan, the Ex US President and he couldn't have been more apt and correct, particularly when you see present day breed of the Indian Politicians.

Nobody can taste the fruits of power and riches all alone, whatever may be the mode of governance. Kings/Dictators had their own faithful and powerful men in key positions, left regimes manage through party cadres and in a multi party democracy the leader has to share the spoils with a much larger group and to have them faithfully glued to your side must close the eyes of the system so that they prosper. That propels the lick my boot, scratch my back model in reality. The resulted in the birth of corruption empowered cabal which encompasses the length and breadth of all walks of life , which grew exponentially in the next four decades, the colour of ruling polity being of no consequence.During these years no leader, no politician , no intelligentsia, no bureaucracy, no judiciary, no media/ journalist, in fact nobody of any consequence from amongst 'The Haves of Indian Society' took cognizance of this malaise. In fact they are all guilty of enjoying the fruits of the birth and rise of corruption empowered cabal and are solely responsible for delaying the INDIAN CHANCE TO BECOME AN ECONOMIC SUPERPOWER They failed the nation in sorting out the CHALLENGES BEFORE INDIA , THE POTENTIAL ECONOMIC SUPERPOWER OF THE 21st CENTURY .
The opportunity windows are a once in lifetime phenomenon in the history of a nation and India is in the midst of this window. Western European countries, Japan and China became prosperous before getting old. Let us resolve that we will not let the present corruption empowered ecosystem thrust upon us by this cabal deny us the prosperity/ happiness that can be ours if we utilize this opportunity judiciously. Let us not forget that Statesmen think of next generation and create
opportunities, Leaders Seize opportunities that come their way, while
Politicians think of next elections and fritter away these opportunities and
dirty politicians simply mess up everything and this is what separates wise men
from men, men from boys and boys from impudent louts in the realm of changing
fate of a nation.

We as a nation have our tasks and priorities well defined and well cut. Let us fight for the end of this cabal and not fritter away our date with destiny which is just a decade away.

After India attained independence, a lot was expected from the governments of independent India. India was a very prosperous country during the period of middle ages and attracted the traders, philosophers and looters/ invaders from 1000AD onwards. India became poor and backward as a result of loot/ arson , barbarism and cruelties by firstly Muslim invaders and rulers and finally by British Colonisers.

India attained independence in 1947 and about the same time Germany, Japan, France etc started building up their war wrecked nations with the help of Marshall Plan. China started its march towards prosperity from 1949 onwards after the communists came into power. India also started around the same time. Western European countries and Japan became prosperous by 1960. But sadly India remained a poor and under developed country and continues to be the same even after seventy odd years.

Where did we fail? We had the wherewithal for becoming prosperous but we squandered all the opportunities to become prosperous. In this failure two things stand out and even today unless we mend our ways we will keep on rotting and yearning for a reasonably comfortable life for our masses. The first and foremost failure on the part of Indian polity of all hues, belonging to any of the left, right or centre ideology was the ability to keep a largely honest and God fearing nation as a corruption free nation. In fact the polity of independent India gave the nation ' The Philosophy of Corruption Empowerment ' , so much so that the CORRUPTION EMPOWERED CABAL that came into prominence in all walks of life is fighting tooth and nail any effort to mitigate this ecosystem - the bane of seven decades of independent India . Many people from amongst the haves of India will tend to disagree but cannot deny the crude reality of India that no government, no bureaucracy, no judiciary, no intelligentsia, no media has ever raised its voice for bringing the problem to light, leave apart finding a solution to destroy this demon. From time to time every class has talked of corruption by their opponents, not for punishing the culprits or finding a solution to mitigate this devil, but to gain an access to power so as to enable themselves to be the share holders in this national loot. The second failure on the part of India has been in seeing only the stomach to be fed with every human being rather than two hands that can add to the earnings and prosperity of the nation. This can either be a case of WRONG ECONOMICS OR WRONG INTENTIONS. The unintentional wrongs can be rectified after some time but the continuity of thought process and the lack of will and effort in making the list of genuine beneficiaries devoid of duplicates and fakes is a strong pointer to the deep faith in the philosophy of corruption empowerment.

It is time the nation and the leadership understands the importance of Corruption Mitigation and Good Governance - The Biggest Growth Engines for Indian Economy. Now that we have the Aadhaar platform and the power of computers, information technology and data management available in the country, we will have to blame ourselves if we do not force the government to cleanse the system of fake and duplicate everywhere, be it the census, citizenry, ration cards and subsidies, voter lists, bank accounts, PAN accounts, real estate owners etc., etc. , the resistance and excuses from CORRUPTION EMPOWERED CABAL in the name of privacy not withstanding.

My last appeal to the hapless masses of India.

Sisters and brothers of India, whether from villages or cities, from any religion, caste or creed, rich or poor, don't be taken in by any tricks of politicians, their cronies, stooges and s breed of corruption empowered haves in authority /power, in ranks of so called intelligentsia, in businesses,in media, in self employed people. Please understand that end of corrupt people and corruption will be the end of your poverty and miseries. Your poverty is a direct result of corruption by those in authority and power.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Ever Since Indian government has taken a decision to introduce a bullet train ( High Speed Rail ) between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, all hell has been let loose by the opposition parties of India in decrying this decision om PM Modi which has the capacity to transform the Indian economy and the lives of common citizenry of India in a decade or so. The government is being touted as anti common man but India has a history of terming most of the progressive measures as repressive. Computerisation was supposed to be anti workers, so was industrialisation. This was generally the view of left parties but today even the centrist party like Congress which was the initiator of the computerisation and industrialisation has joined in the unholy alliance of decrying bullet train through its leaders and large number of crumb getters who earned the title of intelligentsia through its patronage.

I will give three examples from railways which were outstanding efforts of the crumb givers of this intelligentsia and they rightly sang praises of the effort of the then Indian Government. But today their wisdom seems to have eluded them and they see everything wrong with this path breaking step by Mr. Modi.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Investment in infrastructure development has always acted as a catalyst in the economic growth of India. This project could provide an important boost to public investment. The soft funding of the project by the Japanese government is an additional advantage, which brings the two countries together and provides significant economic benefits. In addition to creating demand for local industry, the project would also generate significant employment for a large number of skilled and unskilled workers. The HSR system is more energy- and fuel-efficient. Studies show that HSR systems are around three times more fuel-efficient than aeroplanes and five times more fuel-efficient than cars. Given the traffic density in this corridor, this project could lead to a significant reduction in India’s carbon footprint.
Changing lives with solar microgrids

Haiti is the poorest the country in the western hemisphere. Only 25 per cent of the 10.3 million people in the country have access to electricity. One nonprofit organization is testing a solution that could not only change the lives of the unelectrified in Haiti, but could be a model of how to bring electricity to the 1.2 billion people in the world still living in the dark.

EarthSpark International has built a 93 kW solar-powered microgrid in the small town of Les Anglais (pop. 3,000 in the “downtown” area), which currently supplies clean reliable power to approximately 2,000 people.

Why a Microgrid?

Haiti has more than 30 existing municipal microgrids, but most of them don’t work. And even when they do function, they run on diesel and operate just a few hours a day, a few days a week. So EarthSpark’s goal was to provide people with 24-hour clean affordable electricity.

EarthSpark began working in Haiti providing people with small solar home systems and solar lanterns, products that are life-changing tools for people without access to grid electricity. But the organization soon realized that those aren’t the solutions to which everyone aspires. “To truly unlock economic opportunity, people need access to higher levels of electricity than what a solar home system can provide,” Allison Archambault, president of EarthSpark International, told RMI.

“With the right conditions minigrids can provide energy services in a low-cost sweet spot between small levels of energy consumption that can be effectively served by small stand-alone solar systems and traditional grid extension,” according to Eric Wanless, a principal in RMI’s international practice leading the Sustainable Energy for Economic Development initiative. EarthSpark isn’t the only group focusing on microgrids.

Wind power and solar power are ways to reduce carbon emissions, but these generation sources are dependent on the vagaries of the weather, which means neither wind nor solar can produce electricity on-demand at all hours of the day. This variability has led many to assume that greatly expanding wind and solar to reduce carbon emissions will cause electricity costs to skyrocket and require expensive energy storage.

My colleagues and I have just published a new study to show that this assumption is not correct. In fact, if the U.S. were to move to a national 48-state electric system, rather than the regional one in place now, the country would be able to transport more renewable energy around the country. That change could reduce CO2 by 78 percent at lower costs than today without using any storage technologies.

Using a computer model, we found that this larger electric system would utilize power more efficiently regardless of the generators within it. The cost reduction between the national style system we modeled and the current one, which is divided into about 130 regions, is US$47 billion per year. That translates into an electricity cost of between 8.5 and 10.2¢ per kilowatt-hour (kWh), compared to the current national average of 12.7 cents per kWh.

Even today as I write this a big debate is going on on all media channels wherein all the national spokes persons of all the established parties are attributing Aam Aadmi Party's win and Bhartiya Janta Party's loss to the secular credentials of one and Hindutava agenda of the latter. But let us understand that no revolution in the history of mankind has occurred with religious agenda. In fact all revolutions have taken place as a war between haves and havenots because haves have always thrived and made merry on power, authority, corruption and loots..Still they do not want to take cognizance of the fact that that it is the awareness and recognition of the plain and simple reality of today's India described in words below
i.e

Sisters and brothers of India, whether from villages or cities, from any religion, caste or creed, rich or poor, don't be taken in by any of the tricks of politicians, for end of corrupt people and corruption will be the end of your poverty and miseries.Your poverty is a direct result of corruption by those in authority and power.
which is responsible for such a clean sweep in the latest Delhi elections. In fact it is the dawn of a new era, a watershed mandate in the Indian political history where the power of ballot has rejected the hitherto effective and accepted model of Indian politics wherein the vote banks could be purchased/ goaded/fooled by empowering a few henchmen/goons economically much in the same manner as Muslim rulers would make Nawabs and British rulers would make Rai Sahibs at the expense of common man's rights and dues. The new model mooted by Aam Aadmi Party expects the Indian rulers to work for the betterment of each and every individual rather than for a few favoured and chosen ones.

President Barack Obama is getting serious about climate change, a challenge that "poses a greater threat to future generations" than any other, he said in last week's State of the Union. In July, his administration announced an EPA regulation to slash carbon pollution from power plants. In November, he struck a pact with China on long-term emission reductions. And recently the White House unveiled a plan to cut methane emissions nearly in half by 2025.

Addressing climate change means, in large part, stepping away from dirty energy sources like coal and oil and toward cleaner sources. That’s a good thing. But it requires developing more energy elsewhere, including from one alternative source that has gotten scant attention in the mainstream press: nuclear energy, which poses its own serious environmental risks.

The EPA’s proposed power-plant regulation provides a carbon credit to states for maintaining nuclear energy production at current levels: in other words, a carbon subsidy for maintaining the nuclear status quo. Following the release of the draft rules, EPA administrator Gina McCarthy made clear that the credit is meant, in part, to help the struggling nuclear industry. “There are a handful of nuclear facilities that, because they are having trouble remaining competitive, they haven’t yet looked at re-licensing,” she said at a roundtable discussion with business leaders in Chicago. If nuclear energy plants begin closing, she warned, “It’s a lot of carbon reduction that needs to be made up for a long period of time.”

by KEITH BARNAM

The UK government is committed to massively subsidising new nuclear reactors, based on the claim that they generate ‘low carbon’ electricity.

But what is the carbon footprint of nuclear power? I have trawled the literature and found that there is no scientific consensus on the lifetime carbon emissions of nuclear electricity.

Remarkably, half of the most rigorous published analyses have a carbon footprint for nuclear power above the limit recommended by the UK government’s official climate change advisor, the Committee on Climate Change (CCC).

According to the CCC, if we are to avoid the worst effects of climate change, by 2030 all electricity should be generated with less than 50 grams of carbon dioxide emitted for each kilowatt-hour (50 gCO2/kWh).

Since all new generators have lifetimes well over 20 years, I believe this limit should be imposed on all new electricity supply systems here and now – and all the more so for those with lifetimes spanning many decades.

Note that thanks to long construction times for the EPR design and a forthcoming legal challenge, it’s entirely possible that the planned Hinkley C reactor will not be completed until 2030 or beyond. It will then be subsidised for the first 35 years of its projected 60 year lifetime – taking us through until 2090.

What is the carbon footprint of renewable electricity?

When comparing the carbon footprints of electricity-generating technologies, we need to take into account carbon dioxide emitted in all stages in the life of the generator and its fuel. Such a study is called a life cycle analysis (LCA).

There are other gases such as methane that are more dangerous greenhouse gases than carbon dioxide. The most reliable LCAs take all greenhouse gases into account and present equivalent carbon dioxide emissions.

In a recent paper in Energy Policy, Daniel Nugent and Benjamin Sovacool critically reviewed the published LCAs of renewable electricity generators. All the renewable technologies came in below the 50 gCO2/kWh limit.

The lowest was large-scale hydropower with a carbon footprint one fifth of the CCC limit (10 gCO2/kWh). A close second was biogas electricity from anaerobic digestion (11 gCO2/kWh). The mean figure for wind energy is 34 gCO2/kWh, and solar PV comes in a shade under the 50g limit, at 49.9 gCO2/kWh. Bear in mind that rapidly evolving PV technology means that this last figure is contantly falling.

How renewables are disrupting big energy firms everywhere

The biggest story you’ve never been told An energy revolution is underway across the globe, and the old order is running scared. Big energy firms, once the greatest beneficiaries of liberalised electricity markets, are suddenly seeing their profit margins slump, their very futures imperilled. The traditional privatised utility model that has reigned supreme for twenty-five years is being rapidly undermined. The effects are being felt most

strongly in Germany and the US – but increasingly Britain’s Big Six energy firms are also under threat.

In short, the Big Six are on the run. What’s causing them to take fright is the disruptive power of renewable energy – particularly small-scale renewables owned by lots of people. The reasons for this are actually quite simple, but seldom explained.

The first reason is that the Big Six are facing a growing army of competitors. When the utilities were first privatised in the 1980s, they portrayed themselves as the face of a new popular capitalism. The famous ‘Tell Sid’ adverts of the Thatcher years caught the mood as thousands of people bought up shares in the new energy companies. But as the electricity market developed the number of shareholders and firms dwindled and ossified into the small oligopoly of suppliers that exist today.

Nuclear power constitutes the world’s most subsidy-fattened energy industry, yet it faces an increasingly uncertain future. The global nuclear power industry has enjoyed growing state subsidies over the years, even as it generates the most dangerous wastes whose safe disposal saddles future generations.

Despite the fat subsidies, new developments are highlighting the nuclear power industry’s growing travails. For example, France — the “poster child” of atomic power — is rethinking its love affair with nuclear energy. Its parliament voted last month to cut the country’s nuclear-generating capacity by a third by 2025 and focus instead on renewable sources by emulating neighboring countries like Germany and Spain.

As nuclear power becomes increasingly uneconomical at home because of skyrocketing costs, the U.S. and France are aggressively pushing exports, not just to India and China, but also to “nuclear newcomers,” such as the cash-laden oil sheikhdoms in the Persian Gulf. Such exports raise new challenges related to freshwater resources, nuclear safety and nuclear-weapons proliferation.

Still, the bulk of the reactors under construction or planned worldwide are in just four countries — China, Russia, South Korea and India.

Six decades after Lewis Strauss, the chairman of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, claimed that nuclear energy would become “too cheap to meter,” nuclear power confronts an increasingly uncertain future, largely because of unfavorable economics. The just-released International Energy Agency’s World Energy Outlook 2014 report states: “Uncertainties continue to cloud the future for nuclear — government policy, public confidence, financing in liberalized markets, competitiveness versus other sources of generation, and the looming retirement of a large fleet of older plants.”

On the face of it, the UK government's obsession with nuclear power defies reason. It's very expensive, inflexible, creates 'existential' threats and imposes enormous 'long tail' liabilities tens of thousands of years into the future. But there is a simple explanation: it's all to maintain the UK's status as a nuclear WMD state.

The UK's proposed support package for the Hinkley C nuclear power station in Somerset is gigantic. Estimates of its cost range up to £100 billion or so.

Of course it's hard to put a precise figure on it, as the subsidies take so many forms, and many of the commitments represent a guarantee against unknown and unquantifiable eventualities.

The nuclear industry tells us that nuclear power is a reliable energy source, that it offers "energy security". Tell that to Belgium and the UK who are seeing significant parts of their nuclear fleet shutdown.

Meanwhile, cracks found in two other reactors – Tihange 2 and Doel 3 - means they may never reopen. The three reactors make up over half of the country's nuclear power output.

(Worryingly, there are 22 other reactors around the world that share the same design as Tihange 2 and Doel 3.)

In the UK, four nuclear reactors – at Heysham and Hartlepool – are out of action while defects are investigated.

There have previously been issues with nuclear power plants being closed in EU and USA at times of drought because of water shortages.

What fills the energy gap while these "reliable" nuclear reactors are shut down?

Belgium is having to rely on electricity from its neighbours. So much for nuclear power giving the country energy security.

In the UK, things are much more optimistic. Renewable energy has come to the rescue. "Demand is low at this time of year, and a lot of wind power is being generated right now," said the UK's National Grid. Electricity supplies have been unaffected.

The story of nuclear energy as a dirty and one of the most undesirable source for realising energy security is apparent to one and all of the well meaning citizenry of our globe. Yet in today's world there are nations selling this technology and there are nations willing to buy this technology which is not in sync with the 21st century energy scenario and is almost under obsolescence.Every now and then we come across reports that nuclear is generating less of world's power and renewables are accelerating. But strangely the thrust towards renewables is languishing in spite of the realisation that the eternal solution to energy security lies in harnessing the renewable sources.

The world must shift to solar and wind power rapidly to avoid catastrophic global warming, say UN scientists in a major report. At the same time frequent news items/assessments by the nuclear mafia comprising of polity, industrial cartels, and technical/scientific groups with their own ulterior motives and vested interests keep on writing that nuclear power is absolutely necessary for providing energy security to mankind on our globe. The exponents of nuclear power base their logic on the fact that it is a clean energy and is an absolute must for controlling global warming. No doubt it is clean when it comes to carbon emissions of nuclear power plant during production of power. Factually the much touted clean nuclear power results in up to 25 times more carbon emissions than wind energy when reactor construction and uranium refining and transport are considered. When the problems of fuel processing are taken into account, Nuclear fuels are a curse on humanity from the stage of ore to fuel elements to waste.

The nuclear technology masters have put in enormous money into the basic researches, plant engineering, creation of technology infrastructure etc. etc. and they will be guided by the urge to milk these investments at all costs, by all means, fair or foul. Their economy and status of economic superpower is far too dependent on the nuclear activity around this globe and the only way to sustain this is through sales gimmicks, decrying renewables and withholding basic facts about the need to go in solely for renewables.

Nuclear power plants give the technology providers an all time stranglehold on buyers from mineral rich African and South American countries because of the necessity to get timely fuel and spares and the disposal of spent fuel. As if that were not enough, even after the useful life of the plant the stranglehold continues for requirements of decommissioning and dismantling. In fact decommissioning is extremely intricate and expensive.

Surprisingly no new nuclear plants have come up on their soils during the last forty years or so and in fact they are trying to reduce the contributions of nuclear power, the so called panacea of all energy security requirements. Recently French President Francois Hollande unveiled $13.4 billion energy plans and spelt out plans to reduce its reliance on nuclear power from 75% to 50%. Though while selling nuclear power plants it is said that atomic power is the best, cheapest, safest and cleanest solution to energy security.

Now a word about the motivation or compulsion of prospective buyers. Today hardly any nation wants to buy a nuclear power plant for the sake of power. Either it is being forced into buying in lieu of a barter of investments in other areas or it has some hidden agenda or sinister designs. The recent quest of Iran building four new nuclear power plants is a typical case in point. All buyers want to have an access to the nuclear fuel ultimately to become a full fledged nuclear nation or adding on its capacity to hold this world to ransom through dirty bombs.

Starting from next year, 50% of the system's energy will be provided by wind farms, rising to 70% in 2016 and 95% in 2017, according to the deal agreed with Vivens, the rail operators' energy procurement joint venture.

By 2018, all of the 1.4TWh of energy used to power the country's trains will be sourced from wind projects that are completed this year or later rather than just purchased on the energy market.

"The underlying aim is to avoid procuring energy from the limited existing number of sustainable energy projects in the Netherlands as this would ramp up market prices... and at the same time [we aim] to boost the process of generating green power," the company said.
